Grŵp Gwalia Cyf is a housing association (provider of social housing) in south and mid Wales. Gwalia is the largest housing association in Wales in terms of staff and turnover.[1] Grŵp Gwalia is a hybrid college recognised by the University of Glamorgan. Gwalia's Chief Executive is Professor Michael Williams, who joined the group in 1982 as its Chief Executive. The group manages over 10,000 homes and student flats and comprises six not for profit companies:
The group was founded as Gwalia Housing Society Ltd in Swansea in 1973. The society was organised by a group of local people and consultants to provide quality low cost housing in Wales. The organisation was renamed Gwalia Housing Group Ltd in the 1980s and Grŵp Gwalia Cyf in 2005.
